Volunteering Activities 

 

     Volunteering is a movement that makes it possible to make an important contribution to the formation of civil society, a field of activity aimed at moving society forward in the example of all the work done. Voluntary activity is one of the main directions of the state policy implemented in the Republic of Azerbaijan. Voluntary activity leads individuals to share their knowledge, skills and experiences with the environment, and parallel to personal development, society also rises. It is no coincidence that according to the decree of the President of the Republic of Azerbaijan Mr. Ilham Aliyev dated December 30, 2019, 2020 was declared the “Year of Volunteers” in the Republic of Azerbaijan.

     As a higher educational institution, Azerbaijan Tourism and Management University (ATMU) always supports the activities of our youth in this field for the sake of the national interests of the Azerbaijan state, periodically organizes various meetings and seminars related to volunteering, and implements various projects together with volunteer organizations.

     It is possible to mention the “VoluntouriZoom Online Hub” project, which was implemented during the COVID-19 pandemic with the joint organization of “Tourism Volunteers” Organization and Azerbaijan University of Tourism and Management. The purpose of the project is to gather volunteers who are studying tourism in Azerbaijan and have an interest in the relevant field around a single online platform, to bring them together with experts in the field of tourism and youth work, to discuss the latest innovations and future plans related to the current situation, and to evaluate the proposals submitted by volunteers. . The project was implemented with the participation of 12 experts.

     As a result of the university’s support, our students are selected for their successful activities in the mentioned field. “Cultural Volunteers”, “Sports Volunteers”, “Young Volunteer”, “Baku City Circle Volunteers”, “ASAN Volunteers”, “DOST  Volunteers”, “Bir Volunteer” and other volunteer programs, ATMU requirements are distinguished by their exemplary activities.
